dying in beauty

These leaves, all picked from the tree, were gathered during the course of 2007 in various parks and forests in Europe.

At the time, I was the same age as my father when he passed away, and no doubt haunted by illness and death, I was fascinated by the fragile beauty of these leaves through which I read the inexorable destiny of the human being.

The initial idea was to create a herbarium. But I had just discovered digital photography...
